Week One of Vacation - Schloss Dankern

The first week of fall break (we get 2!), Dagmar & I took the girls & the dog to Schloss Dankern, which is about a 3 hour drive from the house. A kid's resort ... that is essentially what SD is. There are loads of playgrounds & pools (both indoor & outdoor), a lake for water sports, pony rides, & arcades. Families can rent houses for the length of their stay. We stayed 4 days, though we were supposed to stay 5 but decided to come home a day earlier as we would not be able to do anything the day we checked out. The girls & I enjoyed ourselves immensely. We rode our bikes to the indoor areas - namely the pool - every day. We went down all the water slides & achieved some pretty impressive bruises from them! Leena & I also dared to go down the slides in the indoor play park. It was quite fun, but I was ready to head off to visit my friends ... & get away from the girls. I needed intellectual conversation again!
